Worldly Wines

Armenia, Santorini, Georgia, Macedonia, India. Not necessarily areas of the world that spring to mind when you think of good wine. After a wonderful evening with Susan Harper, we are now converted. As part of our monthly Dialogue speaker series, Susan imparted just some of her vast knowledge with ‘Wines from the Edge’, bringing with her eight wines, of which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Branding of the Year

We’re thrilled to have recently discovered that Socrates have won Branding of the Year at this year’s Indigo Design Awards. “Celebrating trail-blazers, risk-takers and all those on the cutting edge of the visual design world”, we’re humbled to have achieved success for Blackstone’s CARGO, London brand campaign.

As part of our drive to expand and further develop our digital capabilities, Socrates have welcomed the wonderful Hermione Foster to the team. Joining as a Project Coordinator, Hermione will work closely to orchestrate new projects and strengthen support across current work.

Following last year’s success, we are honoured to have been shortlisted twice at this year’s Property Marketing Awards. Achieving success in the ‘Best Marketing Campaign: Offices’ category for GCI’s ‘Latitude’ development in La Défense, Paris, we have also been shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Film’ for Orion Capital Manager’s ‘Glimpses of the Glebe’ series in Chelsea, London. A huge thank you to both clients and we keep our fingers crossed for good news later in the month.

Celebrating “exceptional projects that shine with an uncommon artistry”, we’re delighted to have achieved further success at the Indigo Design Awards, 2022. Achieving a gold award for Lendlease’s Park & Sayer brochure, we also achieved a gold award for Far East Consortium’s Aspen brand campaign. Not such a bad start to the week after all!

A Square Deal

Following a creative pitch to GPE, Socrates have been appointed on their exciting new commercial office project, 2 Aldermanbury Square at the heart of the City of London. Offering over 300,000 sq ft of responsible new workspace, we look forward to developing a full suite of collateral in the next year.

We are delighted to have undertaken a brand review and redesign of UK specialist building surveying company, Spring, in time for their 10th anniversary. As well as developing a visual language centred around commissioned illustration, Socrates have also delivered a new website.

We are thrilled to have welcomed another new member to the Socrates team. Liam Trumble joins as a Designer, and with a love for typography and illustration, and both a degree and Masters in visual communications, Liam will play a key role in furthering our studio capabilities.

An Evening of Illustration

As part of Socrates’ Dialogue series, we were delighted to be joined by the wonderfully talented and celebrated illustrator, Robbie Polley. Robbie chatted through his extraordinary career, as well as showing just some of the ways he kept himself occupied during lockdown. Namely by recreating the intricacies of some of the world’s most impressive cars – it’s fair to say we all felt rather in awe of him!

Royal Appointment

Following appointment by J Safra Real Estate, Socrates have been curating a new brand, visual language and suite of collateral for 95 Queen Victoria Street. In the City of London, a stone’s throw from the river and St Paul’s, the significant commercial building will no doubt be keeping us busy in the coming months!

Precious Cargo

Transforming into a warehouse once more, we recently packaged and distributed a series of mailers for Blackstone’s CARGO development. Supporting ongoing marketing efforts, branded umbrellas, water bottles and coffee cups have been gracing the targeted agency community over the past few months.

An ODD Win

ODD by Brian Griffin is the third publication in our Socrates Editions series of limited edition publications. We’re now proud to say this is an award-winning piece of work, achieving a Gold award at the recent New York Muse Creative Awards 2022. We are particularly thrilled to have apparently done Brian’s extraordinary and consistently compelling photography justice!

We are thrilled to have welcomed Kate Strawson to the Socrates team. Joining as Studio Manager, Kate will liaise with our studio, strategy, project teams and the Head of Studio to further assist in ensuring an efficient and effective working practice. She is already a remarkable asset.

Socrates have won once again at the Muse Creative Awards. Achieving success with the brand campaign for Blackstone’s CARGO office development in London’s Canary Wharf, we also won a gold award for our use of illustration to assist with the leasing of Tristan Capital Partner’s Campus, Reading International development. A happy March all round.
